Veronica (Winona Ryder) is an honorary member of the elite high school clique made up of three other girls called Heather. The problem is that, as much as Veronica enjoys being associated with the in-crowd, she recognises the horror of the 'Heathers' - their colour-coordinated codes and their calculating cruelty - and actually wishes them dead.
When she falls for the new school rebel, a loner called JD (Christian Slater), she has unwittingly found the answer to her secret desire.
Heathers is a razor-sharp dissection of the sexual and social rituals of Westerburg High where winning is everything and cheating to win is even better! (Apparently).

Made in the last year of the 80's, this film is billed "The teen movie to end all teen movies" and goes far beyond the conventions of most other teen movies. It is more serious and although perhaps a tad far-fetched it is thought-provoking and compelling viewing. Well worth seeing.
